EaseUS Todo Backup Free – System Image and Emergency USB Guide

What You’ll Need

• A Windows PC with EaseUS Todo Backup Free installed
• A USB flash drive (at least 8 GB recommended) for the emergency boot media • A second drive (external HDD, SSD, or large USB) to store the backup image

■■ PART 1: Install EaseUS Todo Backup Free

1. Download the software: Go to the EaseUS Todo Backup Free website and download the free edition. 2. Install it: Run the installer, choose Custom Installation if needed, and uncheck optional offers.
3. Launch the program once installed.

PART 2: Create a Full System Image Backup

1. Open EaseUS Todo Backup Free and click “Create Backup” or “System Backup.” 2. Choose System Backup to automatically select all necessary partitions.
3. Select your backup destination (external drive or network location).
4. Name the backup plan and adjust options if desired.

5. Click “Proceed” to start the backup.
6. Confirm that the .pbd file exists at the destination when finished.

PART 3: Create an Emergency Boot USB

1. Insert your USB drive (minimum 8 GB).
2. In EaseUS Todo Backup, go to Tools → Create Emergency Disk. 3. Choose “USB” as the target and select the WinPE environment. 4. Click “Create” and wait until the process completes.

PART 4: Test the Boot USB

1. Restart your computer with the USB plugged in.
2. Enter the boot menu (F12, Esc, or Del).
3. Boot from the USB and verify you can see your internal and external drives. 4. Exit and reboot normally.

PART 5: Restoring from a Backup Image

1. Insert your bootable USB and external backup drive. 2. Boot from the USB and choose System Restore.
3. Locate your .pbd file and select your system drive.
4. Click “Proceed” to restore and reboot when complete.
